Ah, summer!!

It's funny, when I was a kid I loved summer. Going to the pool several times a week, riding my bicycle, playing softball with the “gang” until our parents yelled “Bedtime...NOW!”. The heat didn't bother me then... I've gotten wimpy now.

Summer is a perfect time to do projects with the kids. Tear up an old sheet. Lay it flat on the ground outside and let the neighborhood pals use poster paints with their hands and feet to make a design. As long as the fabric doesn't get wet, the paint will last. Let the kids run through the sprinkler to clean up!

Class Schedule

Advanced Knitting Class 1^st, 3^rd, and 5^th Tuesdays 7 pm

August 3, 17 We're doing something a little different by learning needle felting. We will be embellishing felted bags. $15 for the felting kit, $5 for each class

August 31. September 14 Reclaiming Old or Damaged Knits

$5.00 for each class

Bring something that you have accidently felted or that doesn't fit anymore. We'll come up with ways to spice up, add to, or totally change those old things.

Beginning Crochet

Wednesdays, September 15, 22, 29, October 6 7pm

$50.00 includes materials

Come learn to crochet! The projects include dishcloths, potholders, and an ornamnent. The book has more projects to increase your skills.

Beginning Knitting

Thursdays, October 7, 14, 21, 28 7 pm

Come learn the basics of knitting. You'll make dishcloths, and an ornament.

Class size is limited so please sign up 3 days ahead of time. Payment is due in full at the start of the first session and is nonrefundable. Class sessions will start on time. You will be given “homework” so that you can practice what you learn in class

Crafting For Our Community

The Sevier County Humane Society is asking for donations of knitted and crocheted blankets for the animals. The need to be approximately 20” x 20” and done out of acrylic yarn. You can drop them off at the shop if you want. I'll see that they get to the right person. The blankets go home with the animals when they are adopted so the need is ongoing.

Free to all who knit and crochet

Hats, Hats, and More Hats!

Between August 15, 2010 and November 15, 2010, knit or crochet as many hats as you can. Bring them to the shop and collect points toward gift certificates to be used at Terri's. Earn 5 points for each baby or child's hat or 10 points for each adult hat. Points accumulate until November 15 when the following gift certificates will be handed out:

20 points = $1.00

100 points = $5.00

200 points = $10.00

500 points = $25.00

All donated hats will be given to local charitable organizations. Please make sure your hats are clean and ready to wear. Acrylic or cotton yarns will work the best. If you do use wool, please put a tag on it. Any color is fine.
